Founded by former MLB player and mindset coach Chad Hermansen, Mental Edge Apparel was born from over 20 years of professional baseball experience and a deep passion for helping athletes unlock their mental game.

Chad was a first-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1995 and spent 13 years playing professional baseball, including time with the Pirates, Cubs, Dodgers, and Blue Jays. After his playing career, he served eight years as a professional scout for the Los Angeles Angels. Through it all, he experienced the highs of big-league moments and the quiet struggles that come with pressure, expectations, and self-doubt.

After stepping off the field, Chad turned his challenges into a mission — becoming a certified mindset coach for athletes across the country through his company, Mental Edge Coaching. He’s worked with players from youth leagues to college, and even their parents, teaching tools and strategies to strengthen the mental side of sports. He’s also the author of The Parent Edge, a guide for families navigating the athletic journey.
